“Luv You Shankar” follows the story of Shivansh, an 8-year-old boy living in London with his parents. After an accident, Shivansh begins showing strange behaviours, including verbosities about a past life in the holy city of Banaras. Concerned with him, his parents decide to take him to Banaras to seek answers to his past life In Banaras, Shivansh reunites with Madhav, his close friend from a previous life. Through Madhav’s guidance, Shivansh discovers that he was once Rudra, a devout follower of Lord Shiva, who was unjustly killed by Siddhu, now a fraudulent Guru named Siddheshwar. Determined to seek justice for his past life, Shivansh needs to confront Siddheshwar and avenge Rudra’s death

“Luv You Shankar” attempts to blend elements of spirituality, reincarnation, and justice in a narrative that ultimately falls flat. The film’s is based on an 8-year-old’s quest for justice for his past life, initially holds promise but quickly loses steam due to its elementary storyline. Featuring seasoned actors like Shreyas Talpade and Abhimanyu Singh, the performances seem efficacious but it is due to the lacklustre script. The only effective performance is of the actor Hemant Pandey who stands out from the mediocrity & struggles to inject some life into an otherwise dull narrative. Sanjay Mishra’s cameo adds a touch of humour, but it’s too little, too late to salvage the film. Director Sanjay S Ruia attempts to recreate the success of “My Friend Ganesha” but falls short in capturing the essence of the locations depicted in the film. The transition from London to Banaras lacks depth, and the animated portrayal of Lord Shiva fails to impress, missing an opportunity for visual spectacle. While “Luv You Shankar” initially hints at a bewitching plot with glimpses of past events, it quickly devolves into a boring experience, leaving audiences longing for its conclusion. Despite its shortcomings, “Luv You Shankar” aims to blend elements of spirituality, reincarnation, and justice in a family-friendly narrative, albeit with limited success. Overall, the film fails to engage viewers of any age group, making it a disappointment on multiple fronts.
