Kinokoinu: Mushroom Pup: Kimama Aoboshi’s manga “Kinoko Inu” is set to receive a TV anime adaptation, scheduled to premiere in Japan during the fall season of 2024. The announcement comes with the release of a teaser visual, a commemorative illustration by Aoboshi, and a teaser video. The manga was serialized in Tokuma Shoten’s Monthly Comic Ryu seinen manga magazine from 2010 to 2022. It spans 15 collected volumes in Japan and is described as a heartwarming comedy.”Kinoko Inu” follows the story of Hotaru Yuuyami, a picture book writer who is grieving the loss of his beloved family dog, Hanako. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he discovers a peculiar mushroom creature growing in his garden. This strange dog-mushroom hybrid, named Kinoko Inu, becomes a source of unexpected joy and laughter in Hotaru’s life. Kinokoinu: Mushroom Pup is a manga series that follows the story of Hotaru Yuuyami, a picture book writer who is grieving the loss of his beloved pet dog, Hanako.
