BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!! Movies Hit Japanese Theaters In May

BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!! : BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!! released as a two-part movie in Japan this fall. The first part, called “Spring Sunshine, Lost Cat,” is set to premiere early in the season, while the second part, titled “Songs That Become Us & Film Live,” will follow later in the fall. The films were announced on January 6 and are being animated by Sanzigen. Additionally, a sequel series titled BanG Dream! Ave Mujica is scheduled to air in Japan in January 2025. The story follows Anon, who starts a band at Haneoka Girls’ Academy to fit in at her new school, where girl bands are popular. She befriends Tomori, a misfit at the school, and together they explore the power of friendship and music.

“BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!!” is an anime series of BanG Dream! franchise, based on the band MyGO!!!!! It premiered on June 29, 2023. The anime is being released with English subtitles in various countries by Muse Asia. A 2-volume Blu-ray for the series was released on April 17, 2024, along with an official guidebook on April 29, 2024. The story is based on Anon, a first-year student at Haneoka Girls’ High School, who joins a band to fit in with her classmates. She discovers that Tomori, known as “Haneoka’s Weirdo,” has yet to join any bands, prompting her to reach out to Tomori and convince her to join. The series explores themes of friendship and perseverance as the characters navigate their musical journey together. The series includes director Kakimoto Kodai, an original story by Ayana Yuniko, and a series composition by a team including Ayana Yuniko, Goto Midori, Ogawa Hitomi, Waba Akito, and Kasuga Tani. The character design is by Craft Egg, with an animated character design by Chanohara Takuya, Yamori Yuka, and Shin Joseph. The animation is produced by SANZIGEN Animation Studio, with involvement from various production companies including BanG Dream! Project, Bushiroad, TOKYO MX, Good Smile Company, Horipro International, and Ultra Super Pictures.
